Terms of Service

Last updated: October 23, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Next Frame Media LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("Known", "we", "us"), and cover the Known website (keepknown.app) and the Known apps for iOS and Android. By using Known you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

What Known does — and doesn't

Known reads your receipts, barcodes and VINs, keeps a list of what you own, estimates return, expiry and warranty dates, and checks your items against public U.S. government recall data (CPSC, FDA, USDA FSIS and NHTSA).

Acceptable use

Don't misuse Known: no attempts to access other people's data, overload or disrupt the service, scrape it, reverse-engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. Upload only receipts and photos you have the right to use. We may suspend access that breaks these rules.

Our content

Known's software, design and name belong to Next Frame Media LLC. Recall information comes from public government sources. Your item list is yours.

Disclaimers and limits

Known is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information in Known, including missed return windows, warranties or recalls. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Known is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced in the app. You can stop using Known at any time. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, and if we do we will refund any prepaid, unused subscription time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
