Recall alerts · returns · warranties · expiry

Snap the receipt.
Known watches every line.

No barcode hunting, no account, nothing to type. One photo turns your shopping into a watched list: recalls checked daily, return windows and warranties on a clock.

Free for your first 300 items. Recall alerts are never paid.

Known home screen: a scanned receipt with items under watch, return deadlines and dollars protected

Inventory apps make you do the inventory.

One item at a time

Scan a barcode, wait, fix the name, type the date, repeat for a hundred things. When the scanner misses, you type. Most people stop by the second cabinet.

Sign up to see your own list

An email, a password, a login screen, and a list that can vanish after an update. Your groceries should not need an account.

How it works

Three things, and only the first one is yours to do.

· · · KNOWN · · ·

  1. Snap

Photograph any store's receipt, or several photos of a long one. Known reads every line, warehouse abbreviations included, and files each item. Nothing to type.

  2. Watch

Every day your items are rechecked against official U.S. recall notices. You hear about it only when something you own is affected.

  3. Recover

Return windows, warranties and expiry estimates are worked out from the store and the purchase date, with the dollars at stake in plain sight.

Built around what people quit other apps over

No account, ever required

Start as a guest. Add an email only if you want the same list on two devices. It is a sign-in link, no password.

Alerts about your things, not a feed

Recall matching runs against your list, and you choose which kinds reach you: food, products, vehicles. U.S. agencies only.

Expiry dates that say how they were guessed

Every estimate shows its rule, like "7-day rule". Salt, sugar, honey, vinegar, spices and intact cans get no date at all.

Your list is yours

Export it as CSV any time on the free plan. Backed up every day. Delete everything from inside the app.

Bought it again? One tap

Re-add anything from your list with the return and warranty clocks reset. Type a barcode number when a label is torn.

Support that answers

Email from inside the app. You get a ticket number in minutes and a human reply within one business day.

Your car too

Add a VIN and get NHTSA recalls for that exact vehicle, not just the model year.

Any phone

A web app that installs to your home screen, on Google Play for Android, and Add to Home Screen on iPhone.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Known works as a guest. Add an email only to see the same list on two devices. It sends a sign-in link; there is no password.

Where do recalls come from?

Official U.S. databases: CPSC, FDA, USDA FSIS and NHTSA, rechecked daily. Every alert links to the original notice. Known is not affiliated with any government agency. Always follow the official notice.

Is recall matching free?

Yes, for your first 300 items, and it will stay free. Plus removes the item limit and adds the PDF insurance report and claim letters.

What happens to my receipt photos?

They are read and then discarded. Only the item list stays, and you can export or delete it whenever you like.

Can I import from another app?

Not yet. Receipts, barcodes and VINs are the way in. If you have a CSV from somewhere else, tell us what it looks like.

Which stores work?

Any receipt. Return windows use the store's published policy where we have it; otherwise a general estimate, marked as an estimate.

How do I cancel?

Tap the PLUS chip in the app, then Manage subscription. You cancel right in the billing portal, no email needed. Or buy Plus Forever once and never think about renewal.

Your receipt already knows what you bought.

Let it keep watch.
